Letterbook of Jeremiah Goodwin, 1813-1821.

Letterbook of Jeremiah Goodwin of Alfred, York County, Maine. Contains copies of letters sent and received by Goodwin as Pay Master for the 33rd Reg. Infantry of the U.S. Army as well as "abstract of payments", "cash received", and "general accounts current", 1813-1815. Copies of correspondence with various government officials continues until 1821. Begining at the end of the book and going in the opposite direction is a "memorandum" written by Goodwin about his election as Register of Deeds for the County of York in 1816 followed by "List of deeds received, recorded & delivered out by Jeremiah Goodwin, Register" (1816 April 17-1817 July 30). There are columns for when received, grantors, grantees, residence, remarks, price, when delivered and to whom delivered.
